SCUNTHORPE UNITED

I have supported the Iron all of my life, through thin and slightly thicker thin. My first matches at the Old Show Ground were in the days of Kevin Keegan, Nolan Keeley, Angus Davison, Jimmy Lumby etc. We used to stand (sitting was for wimps) at the Fox Street End - in amongst the away fans. In the latter years and due mainly to the out break of football violence we started to stand either in the Donny Road end or just below the main stand. The O. S. G. was such a good ground in the old 4th division days - plenty of space and character. When they pulled it down to make way for 'that' supermarket I grieved, as I had many a happy time in there - now my ashes have to be spread over bloody S***ways Supermarket car park!!

Some photos that I took in the early eighties, of two matches at The Old Show Ground.

As they demolished the Old Show Ground I did go in and take some photos,

not for the squeamish.

Some photos taken at Glanford Park before a match had been played, and some of the first match (including Kevin Keegan in Scunthorpe colours).
